1,813 arrested in 131 cases in Dhaka since October 28

Police have arrested 1,813 leaders and activists from various opposition parties since BNP’s grand rally in the capital on October 28.

The arrests were made in connection with 131 cases filed with different police stations in Dhaka.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relation) KN Roy Niyati of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter at DMP Media Centre on Saturday.

Clashes erupted between law enforcers and BNP during the party’s grand rally on October 28.

Following the incident, the BNP and other opposition parties’ are enforcing hartals and blockades in multiple phases.

Meanwhile, BNP and other opposition parties have announced a two-day blockade scheduled to commence from Sunday.
